It was in Gatwick Airport on a fine Monday 8th September 2014 that Andrea, Widya and Dewi were involved in welcoming the first passengers of Garuda Indonesia 🙂 It was such an honour to be able to perform Indonesian dances for Garuda Indonesia’s inaugural to and from London.
In the morning at the departure gate (air-side) we performed Sekar Jagat from Bali and Bajidor Kahot from West Java. Bajidor Kahot has different ways of using its costume and this time the three wore feathers on their head! Aren’t they pretty? 🙂
Lila Bhawa was also involved in a photo session then greeting passengers of Garuda Indonesia at the boarding gate for London-Jakarta and at the arrival gate for Jakarta-London. Andrea, Widya and Dewi also performed Panyembrama from Bali on stage at Sofitel Hotel for the passengers that have arrived. Panyembrama is one of the classical welcoming dance from Bali.
Besides the dancing, it seems Dewi even had a go on football tricks with the Liverpool FC team. Dewi did a good trick, eh?
We hope Garuda Indonesia will fly well as then between London and Jakarta. We thank Garuda Indonesia and the Indonesian Embassy for involving us in their inaugural ceremony 🙂
